Foggy sunrise over Gorje Village

I decided to photograph Bled from a completely different perspective this time. I wanted to capture Bled castle and the church of st. Andrej on Rečica together with the sun rising somewhere in-between. In the lower part of the image you can see the picturesque village Gorje. I was scouting for a good location for some time and decided to hike on a small hill above Gorje. It turned out to be a very good spot and the perfect amount of fog emphasizes the drama in the images.

Fog was moving rapidly and it created all sorts of shapes. I really like how it almost engulf the whole church in this one.

I really like how the the trees on the upper right hill are already lit up and the lower part is still in the shade.

Next two images are my favorites from this session. They have just the right amount of drama in it, with certain parts in the sunlight and the rest still hiding from the sun.

Church of st. Andrej on Rečica above layers of fog. Each layer of the fog has it’s own shade and it looks fantastic. I made quite a few close-ups since the conditions were changing rapidly and below is my selection of the best ones.

I almost forgot to take a panoramic shoot of the scenery with so much happening around the church and the castle. I always find it fascinating how the fog at some point just stops.

The last image is probably also the best one of the series. It also got selected on a prestigious and curated website called 1x. The smoke from the chimneys adds some nice details to the image.

Next photo journal will be about the highest mountain of my local municipality called Vajnež.
