I wanted to visit the frozen landscape in Karavanke mountain range one last time before the thaw. Struska planina is known for it’s strong winds which turn the trees into frozen statues. In the middle of the ascent the moon started to appear on the sky.
Behind me, Golica mountain looked pretty majestic.
The highest peak of Karavanke mountain range, Stol, was hiding in the clouds.
I wasn’t alone. There was a snowboarder with a kite enjoying the powder.
Wind covers the trees in snow and frost.
Two winter dogs.
Struska mountain is very popular in the winter as it’s pretty safe comparing to other mountains.
View from the top of Korenscica hill. On the left is Struska mountain and on the right is Stol (the highest peak).
Colors started to change rapidly as the time of sunset was approaching.
Frozen guardians in the evening sun.
Snowboarder and his dog coming up for the last ride before the sunset.
The highest peak in Slovenia, Triglav, is on the far left and Golica ridge is on the right.
Time for some quick posing at the sunset.
Riding into the sunset.
Amazing atmosphere. Peaceful and cold.
It was time to say goodbye to the white walkers of Struska mountain.
Struska planina is one of the most remarkable places to visit in Slovenia in winter time. And no need to be afraid, white walkers are frozen in time :).
